    • Balance (Plank)
    • Activity (Basketball)
    • Nutrition (Body Composition)
    • Determination (2 Mile Run)
    • Strength (3RM Deadlift)
  • All final, recorded attempts for the 5 events must be recorded by Liz, Mike, or an appointed fitness center staff member.  Contact Elizabeth.a.kimmeth.naf@mail.mil if you have any questions or would like to schedule a specific time to come in for recorded, final attempts.
  1. Plank
    1. Planks are a powerful way to strengthen your core to have better balance and stability.  
    2. Challenge: Perform the longest plank with a proper form including forearms on the ground, held straight trunk position, and feet together.
  2. Basketball
    1. Participants will have 5 attempts at basketball shots to attain a maximum score.  Shots will be scored according to the following point system.  
        1. Free throw: 5 points
        2. 3 point shot: 10 points
        3. Half court: 50 points
    2. Challenge: Whoever scores the most points through point total of the 5 shots.
  3. Body Composition
    1. Record body composition measurements at the beginning and end of the month to track changes in fat mass, fat-free mass, and body fat %.  
    2. Challenge: Lose the greatest amount of body fat %.
  4. 2 Mile Run
    1. Participants will be challenged to perform the fastest 2 mile run time.  Run must be performed indoors on a treadmill for final attempt. 
    2. Running groups will be held outdoors along the 5K route Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 0630-0730 hrs. throughout the month of May.
  5. 3RM Deadlift
    1. Participants will have one chance to perform their maximum 3RM deadlift.  Deadlift will be performed using a trap bar.
